Kelly is an accomplished vocalist whose journey in music began early in her life. Born in Northern Ireland and raised in the north of England, Kelly was already making waves in the studio session scene by the age of 16.

Her passion for jazz and funk blossomed, leading the Kelly Dickson Quintet to become a regular act on the UK jazz circuit. With a rapidly expanding career prompted relocating to London, where she earned a degree in Jazz Studies from Middlesex University.

In 2003, Kelly recorded her debut jazz album `Vocal Point´ in New York, featuring renowned saxophonist, George Garzone.  Widely respected jazz pianist Nikki Iles also joined Kelly back in London to record two more tracks for this album. Kelly returned to New York in 2007 to collaborate with Norwegian guitarist Werner Kristiansen and record her second jazz album `Doodlin’,´ which also featured Garzone and his trio.

In 2005, after being discovered by esteemed ex ‘Style Council’ drummer Steve White, Kelly joined The Players, a superfunk band including other notable musicians Mick Talbot and Damon Minchella. The Players toured across Europe, performing at prestigious venues and festivals such as the Blue Note in Milan and the Jazz World Stage at Glastonbury. Kelly also contributed to writing and recording The Players' second album, `From the Six Corners´(Sanctuary Records). The band later renamed itself Trio Valore, with Kelly occasionally performing with them.

Kelly has sung background vocals for Gwen Stefani, Jaki Graham and the Noisettes, and worked closely with Corinne Bailey Rae and saxophonist Lovely Laura. In 2009. Kelly opened for John Legend at the Dubai Jazz Festival.

In 2014, Kelly relocated to Sandefjord, Norway, where she quickly established herself performing jazz and leading her soul/funk band Mamafeelgood.

As well as finding her niche singing soulful jazz interpretations, Kelly writes her own songs and is planning to release a collection of songs co-written with Werner Kristiansen. These songs are a unique blend of soul, funk, and pop, characterised by Kelly’s powerful vocals and Werner’s distinctive guitar. These `Chapter Two´ recordings include performances by acclaimed musicians such as Mick Talbot and drummer Richard Spaven.
